The Shed

After *much* deliberation... I finally bought a new dresser off craigslist. My old modern dresser was literally falling apart and I needed drawers that my clothes would actually fit into.  We went to pick up the dresser this weekend and were pleasantly surprised when we pulled up.  It was kind of like being on an episode of American Pickers...
The lady I purchased the dresser from is actually a picker herself and had *tons* of cool old stuff.

Ava even found a soccer ball to play with;)
She had a blast playing in the big front yard while mom and dad took a look around.
There was a lot to look at.
A lot.
She had old windows, fireplace mantels, doors, furniture, old kitchen cabinets, gardening tools, old kitchen tools, and much more.  In the end I went home with the dresser as planned, a new sideboard and a cool old fan.
My style is very modern, but I like to mix in at least one older piece in each room to mix it up.  I think it makes the space look a lot more interesting.  I couldn't go home without this sideboard.  It's old, solid wood, has cool hardware and lets just say the price was right;)  We are slowly trying to purge our home from too much Ikea.  Now I need to find the perfect mirror or piece of art to go above the sideboard...
It makes for a perfect toy storage for the living room.  Cat was very curious.  Ava *loved* pulling all her toys out of the sideboard.
My lovely old fan.  I've been looking for an old fan like this forever.  I only paid $30 for this one and it actually still works!  I spotted this last minute when we were leaving.  Since we weren't planning on "shopping" while picking up the dresser, Zach was sweet enough to walk across the street to a gas station to get more cash for the fan:)  This was a "cash only" establishment...
And here we have the dresser.  Here is the thing about my dresser dilemma...  I've been looking for a new dresser for a long time.  I really don't like modern dressers.  They are usually made from MDF board (and the ones that aren't I can't afford), overpriced and have really tiny impractical drawers.  This dresser is a beast!  It's solid wood and I'm planning to refinish it in a glossy finish and replace the hardware with something like this... or this... or maybe even this one!  What color do you think I should paint it??
