Honey pecan cream cheese is one of my favorite cream cheese flavors. Ever. The other day I read the ingredients on a package I bought from a local deli. There were a few ingredients that I couldn't pronounce (which I always hate), but the one that stuck out the most... sour cream. Huh? Sour cream was in my sweet honey pecan cream cheese? I took another bite of my bagel and realized sour cream is what gave it such a nice tangy flavor. Guess who went home and tried to recreate it?
16 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup honey
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg, freshly ground
1/2 cup chopped pecans, toasted
In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, sour cream, honey, cinnamon and nutmeg using a mixer until smooth. Fold in pecans.
